NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA)
Information on submitting USRA applications for Summer 2012 awards
![]() | GREAT OPPORTUNITY!NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) enable undergraduate students to gain research experience under the supervision of a faculty member who holds an active NSERC award. The award stipend provided by NSERC is $4,500 for 16 weeks of work. In addition, students receive a minimum 25% ($1,125) supplement provided from other sources.
DEADLINES:Information session on the NSERC USRA Program on January 12th at 12:30 p.m. in SEB 3109DON'T MISS IT!Applications are due on January 23, 2012 and are submitted online via the NSERC website. All students interested in applying for this program must submit a Notice of Intent to Diana Lee in SEB 2079 by January 17th. |
HOW TO APPLY
1. Consult the website of Western Engineering Research and Graduate Services
2. For USRA application guidelines and FAQs, and see the NSERC website for information on eligibility criteria and program requirements.
3. You should read the relevant department and faculty members’ websites for information on areas of research. This will help you to identify the appropriate faculty members as supervisors for their USRA research work.
4. Contact suitable faculty members to discuss possible summer projects.
